Dog Training Indianapolis Prices: A Transparent Guide to What You'll Actually Pay
If you've been searching for dog training Indianapolis prices, you've probably noticed most trainers don't list their rates upfront. I do. Here's exactly what I charge, why it varies, and how to figure out what your dog's program will cost — no guesswork.
Every week I get the same question: "How much does this cost?" It's a fair question, and you deserve a straight answer. I've built my pricing around two realities: every dog is different, and every owner has a different budget. That's why I offer both single sessions and discounted packages. Let's walk through the numbers.
Single Session Rate
Prefer to start with one lesson before committing? A single session is $200. If you decide to move forward with a full package, that $200 applies toward it as long as you book before your second session.
Package Pricing (Best Value)
Packages bundle multiple lessons at a significant discount compared to booking individually. Each package is designed as a complete curriculum — you get a clear start-to-finish plan, structured homework, and follow-up support. The savings listed below are compared to the single-session rate of $200 per lesson.

Why Dog Training Prices Vary
There's no one-size-fits-all price because there's no one-size-fits-all dog. Here are the three biggest factors that determine what you'll actually pay:
Behavior severity and goals
A puppy learning basic manners needs a different program than a dog with deep reactivity or aggression. Reactivity Rehab and Off-Leash Freedom require more specialized time and equipment, which is reflected in the lesson count and total price. Simpler issues like leash pulling or jumping can often be handled in a 3-lesson program.
Package vs. single sessions
Packages bundle your lessons at a real discount off the $200 single-session rate. If you're not sure yet whether you want the full program, you can start with one session and apply that $200 toward a package as long as you book before a second single session.
Travel distance from Indianapolis
I travel to your home for every lesson. The first 20 miles from downtown Indianapolis are included free. If you're outside that radius, a travel surcharge of $3.50 per mile applies. Most of my clients are in Marion County or the immediate suburbs — Carmel, Fishers, Zionsville, Greenwood, Westfield, Noblesville — and fall well within the included range.
Fees to Know About Up Front
Credit card surcharge
A 3% surcharge applies to all credit card payments. No fee for cash, check, or Venmo.
Travel surcharge
First 20 miles included. Beyond that, $3.50 per mile from downtown Indianapolis.
Payment schedule
3-lesson programs: paid in full at the first session. 4+ lesson programs: pay in full at first session, or split into two equal installments.
Equipment & Collars
Training equipment isn't included in the program price. Every dog is different, and I don't take a one-size-fits-all approach — some dogs need a specific collar, tool, or piece of equipment, and others don't, so I'd rather you only pay for what your dog actually needs rather than bake a generic equipment cost into every package. If you pay for your package in full, you get 10% off any equipment I recommend, including the remote training collars required for the off-leash programs: the Dogtra 200IQ (MSRP $199.99) or Dogtra 280X (MSRP $234.99), plus tax.
The Bottom Line
For most Indianapolis-area dogs, you're looking at somewhere between $375 and $1,130 for a complete training program, depending on your goals. If you just need a single session to work through one issue, it's $200. If you're not sure about committing to a full program, you can start with a single $200 session and apply it toward a package as long as you book before your second session.
